According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export value of China in 2023 is 5.94 trillion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -5.0%. Among them, exports amounted to 3.38 trillion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -4.6%; Imports amounted to $2.56 trillion, a year-on-year increase of -5.5%; The trade surplus is 823.22 billion US dollars.
Specifically in the internal combustion engine industry, the industry's import and export growth rate is slightly higher than the overall national import and export growth rate. The industry's import and export performance is generally stable, and the export situation is better than imports.
According to data compiled by the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export volume of the internal combustion engine industry in 2023 was 30.995 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 3.02%. Among them, imports were 8.679 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -1.41%, and exports were 22.316 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.85%.
In terms of import value, the decline in gasoline engine and internal combustion engine components is still significant, while other types of complete machines have slightly decreased. Diesel engines and generator sets have shown positive year-on-year growth. Specifically, in 2023, diesel engine imports amounted to 1.339 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 41.65%; Gasoline engine imports amounted to 503 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -28.50%; The import of other types of complete machines reached 2.51 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -3.20%; Imports of internal combustion engine components amounted to 3.752 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 7.53%; The import of generator sets reached 574 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 14.24%.
In terms of export value, except for a decrease in other categories of complete machines, all other sub categories have increased year-on-year. Specifically, in 2023, diesel engine exports amounted to 1.322 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 18.94%, while gasoline engine exports amounted to 1.518 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 3.41%; The export of other types of complete machines reached 2.377 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -8.71%; The export of internal combustion engine components reached 11.812 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 6.70%; The export of generator sets reached 5.286 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.09%.
