Li Haihua, a deputy to Yuchai National People's Congress, puts forward three suggestions for high-quality development of internal combustion engine industry


The 'dual carbon' target has become a global consensus. In recent years, the global hydrogen energy industry has developed rapidly, with over 40 countries and regions formulating strategic plans and technological roadmaps for hydrogen energy development. China has also introduced multiple policies and national plans to support the development of the hydrogen energy industry, including planning support for hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine power systems. However, the related basic and key core technologies of zero carbon emission hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine power systems still need to increase resource investment for key breakthroughs.


In order to lead China in the field of hydrogen energy as internal combustion fuel, Li Haihua suggests that "relevant national departments should provide resource support in scientific and technological research and development projects, and establish a national level key technology research and development special project for hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine power systems

At the same time, considering the wide range of applications of hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine power systems, Li Haihua proposed: "It is suggested to establish a national level distributed, modular, efficient and flexible hydrogen production key technology research project to support the acceleration of the promotion and application of hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine power


The draft Euro VII emission standard has undergone multiple discussions and revisions by institutions such as the European Parliament and the European Commission since its release in November 2022. Its content has undergone significant changes, including emission limits, testing cycles, and testing methods, which have reduced the difficulty and resource investment of complying with Euro VII emission regulations.

Li Haihua put forward his suggestion for the pre research and draft preparation of China's National Emission Standard VII: "We hope that the country will deeply benchmark the latest changes in Euro VII emission regulations during the preparation process, fully consider China's national conditions and the healthy and sustainable development of the industry, reasonably formulate the National Emission Standard VII limit values, so that the final National Emission Standard VII can always remain at the international advanced level. While significantly improving environmental quality, it can also enhance the product competitiveness and discourse power of Chinese car companies


Regarding the implementation time of the National Emission Standard 7, Li Haihua put forward his opinion: "Currently, Chinese enterprises are investing more and more in the research and calibration of emission control technologies, and the research and development cycle is also getting longer. China 6b has already taken the lead in the world's emission standards. I suggest that the implementation time of the National Emission Standard 7 should not be earlier than 2030, so that enterprises have relatively sufficient time to study emission control plans
