Import and export of internal combustion engine industry in January and February 2024

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export value of China in the first two months of 2024 was 930.86 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.5%. Among them, exports amounted to 528.01 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.1%; Imports amounted to 402.85 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.5%; The trade surplus is 125.16 billion US dollars.
Specifically in the internal combustion engine industry, there has been a slight increase in import and export performance, with export growth exceeding imports.
According to data compiled by the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export volume of the internal combustion engine industry in January and February 2024 was 5.011 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.62%. Among them, imports were 1.286 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.14%, and exports were 3.726 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.79%.
In terms of import value, except for the year-on-year decrease in other categories of internal combustion engines, all other categories showed growth, with a significant decrease in other categories of internal combustion engines. Specifically, in January and February 2024, diesel engine imports amounted to 215 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 67.55%; Gasoline engine imports amounted to 80 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 0.62%; The import of other types of complete machines reached 302 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -25.57%; The import of internal combustion engine components reached 573 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 6.13%; The import of generator sets reached 116 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 67.24%.
In terms of export value, except for the year-on-year decrease in other categories of complete machines and generator sets, all other sub categories increased year-on-year. Specifically, in January and February 2024, diesel engine exports amounted to 229 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 18.92%; Gasoline engine exports amounted to 325 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 44.47%; The export of other types of complete machines reached 382 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -7.03%; The export of internal combustion engine components reached 2.037 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 14.28%; The export of generator sets reached 753 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -17.36%.
