Two national standards for internal combustion engines have been included in key national standard supervision projects

On April 8, 2024, in order to implement the "Work Plan for Promoting High Quality Economic Development through Standard Upgrading" and the "Action Plan for Upgrading Traction Equipment and Replacing Old Consumer Products with New through Standard Upgrading", the State Administration for Market Regulation (State Standardization Administration) convened the "First Promotion Meeting for the Development of Important Standards" with relevant industry departments, industry associations, and the National Professional Standardization Technical Committee. The National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee attended the meeting.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, implement the National Standardization Development Outline, accelerate the upgrading of standards, and meet the needs of the people for a better life, the State Administration for Market Regulation and seven other departments have formulated the "Work Plan for Promoting High quality Economic Development through Standard Upgrading". The plan emphasizes the improvement of supporting policies for standard implementation, using standards to drive the integration and application of emerging technologies, and expand new space for industry level market development. The national standard project "General Technical Conditions for Hydrogen Fuel Internal Combustion Engines" under the jurisdiction of our standardization committee has been included in this work plan, which belongs to the research field of promoting hydrogen energy industry chain standards through standards in the plan.

The State Administration for Market Regulation and seven other departments have formulated the "Action Plan for Promoting Large scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Trade in" to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Fourth Meeting of the Central Committee for Finance and Economics, implement the deployment of the State Council's "Action Plan for Promoting Large scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Trade in", and carry out a new round of standard upgrading actions to better support equipment renewal and consumer goods trade in. The plan proposes to implement standard upgrading actions, adhere to standard guidance and orderly upgrading, strengthen standard comparison, optimize system construction, accelerate the formulation and revision of standards in areas such as energy conservation, carbon reduction, environmental protection, safety, and circular utilization. The national standard project "Technical Specification for Carbon Emission Accounting of Internal Combustion Engine Life Cycle" under the jurisdiction of our standardization committee has been included in this action plan, which belongs to the field of accelerating the upgrading of energy consumption and emission technology standards and strengthening the public relations of low-carbon technology standards in the plan.

At present, the "General Technical Conditions for Hydrogen Fuel Internal Combustion Engines" has completed the preparation of the draft for soliciting opinions according to the project development plan, and is currently publicly soliciting opinions. The plan is to review it at the end of May and submit it for approval on schedule in October; The project of "Technical Specification for Carbon Emission Accounting of Internal Combustion Engine Life Cycle" has completed the first discussion of the standard draft according to the plan, and the second draft will be discussed at the end of April.

This has been included in two key national standard supervision projects, and the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee will better control quality, actively promote and complete it according to requirements, and contribute to the development of national key standards.
