On May 11th, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) reported the production and sales data of the automobile market in April to the industry.
Overall, in April, China's automobile production and sales decreased compared to the previous month, but showed rapid growth year-on-year. New energy vehicles and automobile exports continued to maintain rapid growth year-on-year. The production and sales of automobiles reached 2.406 million and 2.359 million respectively, a month on month decrease of 10.5% and 12.5%, and a year-on-year increase of 12.8% and 9.3%, respectively. Commercial vehicles: 357000 units
The market has noticeably cooled down
According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in April, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 358000 and 357000 respectively, a month on month decrease of 18.3% and 22% respectively, and a year-on-year increase of 0.8% and 2.8% respectively. Compared with the small peak in sales in March, the commercial market cooled significantly in April, not only turning from positive to negative on a month on month basis, but also further narrowing the year-on-year growth rate.
Among the main varieties of commercial vehicles, the production and sales of buses and trucks have shown varying degrees of decline compared to March; Compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of passenger cars have shown double-digit growth, while the production of trucks has slightly decreased and sales have slightly increased.
From the perspective of sales regions, in April, the domestic sales of commercial vehicles reached 283000 units, a month on month decrease of 25.6% and a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%; Exported 74000 vehicles, a decrease of 4.2% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 24%.
In terms of cumulative sales, from January to April, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 1.354 million and 1.39 million respectively, an increase of 3.9% and 8.1% year-on-year. Compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of buses and trucks have shown varying degrees of growth in the main varieties of commercial vehicles.
Among them, from January to April, the domestic sales of commercial vehicles reached 1.102 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%; Commercial vehicle exports reached 288000 units, a year-on-year increase of 26.5%.
Overall, commercial vehicle exports have been hot this month, but the domestic market has performed poorly.
Trucks: 313000 units
Slightly increased by 1% year-on-year
In April, the truck market performed poorly.
From a data perspective, the production and sales of trucks reached 312000 and 313000 respectively, with a month on month decrease of 19.5% and 22.8%, respectively; Production decreased by 0.6% year-on-year, while sales increased by 1% year-on-year.
Compared with March, the production and sales of the four major categories of truck varieties have shown varying degrees of decline in the subdivision of truck varieties; Compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of light trucks increased slightly, while the production and sales of heavy trucks showed varying degrees of decline. The production and sales of medium trucks decreased while increasing, and the production and sales of micro trucks increased while decreasing.
In terms of cumulative sales volume, from January to April, compared with the same period last year, the production of light trucks decreased slightly and sales increased slightly, while the production and sales of the other three major categories of trucks showed varying degrees of growth.
Bus: 45000 vehicles
Zhongke leads the month on month increase
In April, the bus market performed better than the overall truck and commercial vehicle markets.
Specifically, in April, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 45000 units, a month on month decrease of 8.4% and 15.6% respectively, and a year-on-year increase of 11.5% and 17.6% respectively. In the segmented varieties of passenger cars, compared with March, the production and sales of medium-sized passenger cars showed double-digit growth, the production and sales of light passenger cars showed double-digit decline, and the production and sales of large passenger cars slightly decreased while the sales volume slightly increased; Compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of the three major types of passenger cars have all shown varying degrees of growth.
From January to April, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 159000 and 158000 respectively, an increase of 11.4% and 14.7% year-on-year. Among the main types of buses, compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of the three major categories of buses have all shown varying degrees of growth, among which the growth rate of medium-sized buses is the most obvious.
Regarding the overall development situation of the automobile market, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) analyzed that the export growth rate of China's automobile market is greater than that of domestic sales, and the domestic automobile market urgently needs further boost. Recently, seven departments including the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance issued the "Implementation Rules for the Trade in of Vehicles", clarifying the scope and standards of funding subsidies, and coordinating the development of new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles. In the early stage, the People's Bank of China and the State Administration of Financial Supervision and Administration jointly issued the Notice on Adjusting Policies Related to Auto Loans, which helps to further reduce the threshold of auto consumption and forms a policy synergy with the implementation rules. Local governments are also actively responding and introducing relevant supporting measures. I believe that with the deepening implementation of relevant policies and the further increase in innovation by automobile manufacturers, constantly launching a large number of new car models, it will be conducive to further stimulating the consumption potential of the automobile market and expanding domestic market demand.
