Air China's 76K ton green and low-carbon bulk carrier "Guoyuan 701" successfully made its maiden voyage in Yuchai, helping customers succeed
Air China COSCO Shipping is a leading enterprise in domestic dry bulk shipping, always committed to green and low-carbon development, and has become an active advocate and practitioner of the dual carbon goal among bulk carriers. Starting from July 2023, Air China COSCO Shipping and Jiangsu Haitong have successively signed construction contracts for 2 76000DWT bulk carriers and 4+2+2 73800DWT bulk carriers. Now, as the first ship to be delivered, the successful maiden voyage of "Guoyuan 701" marks a solid step forward for Air China COSCO Shipping in the development of green and intelligent ships.
Yuchai Shipyard has always maintained a close cooperative relationship with Jiangsu Haitong, providing strong support for the smooth delivery of "Guoyuan 701". In the context of a tight global supply chain, Yuchai Shipbuilding has made every effort to achieve early delivery of the main engine in order to meet the shipbuilding schedule requirements of Jiangsu Haitong. All experimental projects have passed smoothly, and all indicators and parameters meet the design requirements, laying a solid foundation for the scheduled delivery of the bulk carrier built by Air China COSCO Shipping in Haitong, Jiangsu.
The "Guoyuan 701" has a total length of 225 meters, a width of 36.5 meters, and a depth of 18.8 meters. It is equipped with the 6S50ME-C9.7 main engine produced by Yuchai Shipbuilding. With its excellent product quality and reliability, it provides powerful power for the ship's navigation. The ship was carefully designed by Shanghai Shipbuilding Design Institute (SDARI). By optimizing the ship's line shape, adjusting multiple operating conditions, and applying energy-saving technologies such as wind drag reduction, vortex shedding fins, and pre diversion devices (PSV), the ship's Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) was lower than the baseline by more than 45%, making it an advanced, environmentally friendly, economical, and highly competitive ship in terms of design. In addition, the new ship is equipped with a ship energy efficiency management system, which can monitor the fuel situation of the main energy consuming equipment and oil tanks in real time, and automatically adjust the pump load through high-power water pump frequency conversion technology to achieve energy-saving and emission reduction goals.
