In the first four months, the cumulative import and export growth rate has accelerated compared to the first quarter, while the scale has reached a new historical high for the same period.
According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export value of China in the first four months of 2024 was 1943.48 billion US dollars, an increase of 2.2%. Among them, exports amounted to 1099.57 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.5%; Imports amounted to 843.91 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.2%; The trade surplus is 255.66 billion US dollars.
Specifically in the internal combustion engine industry, there has been a slight increase in import and export performance, with import growth exceeding exports.
According to data compiled by the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export volume of the internal combustion engine industry from January to April 2024 was 10.366 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 0.84%. Among them, imports were 2.914 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 7.52%, and exports were 7.451 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -1.56%.
In terms of import value, gasoline engines and other types of internal combustion engines decreased year-on-year, while other types showed growth, with a significant decrease in other types of internal combustion engines. Specifically, from January to April 2024, diesel engine imports amounted to 520 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 62.00%; Gasoline engine imports amounted to 142 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -3.18%; Imports of other types of complete machines amounted to 668 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -26.02%; The import of internal combustion engine components reached 1.32 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 12.93%; The import of generator sets reached 263 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 54.65%.
In terms of export value, except for the year-on-year decrease in other categories of complete machines and generator sets, all other sub categories increased year-on-year. Specifically, from January to April 2024, diesel engine exports amounted to 449 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.80%; Gasoline engine exports amounted to 717 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 43.58%; The export of other types of complete machines reached 743 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -17.54%; The export of internal combustion engine components reached 4.033 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.48%; The export of generator sets reached 1.508 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -20.56%.
