Recently, Cummins China successfully held the "2024 Cummins Customer Day" event in Wuxi with the theme of "Core Drive, Heart Together, New Future", and released the new generation 7.0L and 6.2L engine products. As a shared platform product under Cummins FFA2.0 strategy, the new generation 7.0L and 6.2L engines are two medium-sized engines launched by Cummins in collaboration with two partners - Dongfeng Motor and Foton Motor - to meet the four stage fuel consumption standards.

They are not only a significant upgrade to Cummins' traditional medium horsepower truck market, but also a major advancement in the engineering vehicle market, and will be produced simultaneously by Dongfeng Cummins and Foton Cummins.

For Fukang, the arrival of the 7L engine is undoubtedly an addition to the medium-sized engine field, adding another major weapon to the existing product matrix. Recently, Commercial Vehicle News Media interviewed Chen Hua, the General Manager of Foton Cummins, to listen to his detailed explanation of the advantages of this powerful tool.

As a platform product under the FFA concept, Cummins 7.0L engine has the characteristics of "global synchronous development and China's first landing". On the one hand, the 7.0L engine inherits the advantages of Cummins' classic B-series platform. Many customers are familiar with Cummins B-series engines, which have a history of over 40 years and have sold over 17 million units worldwide. They are the preferred power source among many well-known brands worldwide.

The Fukang 7L engine, built on classic power, is also designed for medium trucks. The launch of the Fukang 7L engine has further improved Fukang's product matrix in the medium horsepower range, and together with Fukang's 8.5L and 10L power, it forms the three transport swordsmen, achieving a comprehensive attack in the medium and heavy-duty truck market and creating a new wealth creation tool for cardholders.


Chen Hua told Commercial Vehicle News Media that it is well known that Fukang's classic products are mainly light (4.5L and below) and heavy (11L and above), with a gap in between. The 7.0L power was put into production by Fukang, filling this gap. For the joint venture partner Foton Motor, they also need a mid horsepower model that can be equipped with mid-range card products, such as the Ouman Planet and the Ouhang Oumaku Zhongka.

Especially with the recovery growth of the medium truck market, such as the use of 6-liter and 7-liter engines in scenarios such as greenways and cold chain, as well as the traditional engineering vehicle market, there is also a high demand for 7-liter engines, and customers have higher requirements for engine power, fuel consumption, and reliability. The Fukang 7L engine can be said to be born in response to the times.

From the perspective of performance indicators, the Fukang 7L aircraft has been comprehensively upgraded in terms of fuel efficiency, power, reliability, and driving comfort. The fuel saving performance surpasses the past, with a 10% fuel saving rate compared to the previous generation product under typical cargo application conditions; Maximum power performance of 350 horsepower and peak torque of 1400 Nm, with a 30% increase in transient response and a 20% increase in climbing ability, providing stronger power and faster response; In terms of reliability, 33 reliability technologies have been iteratively upgraded to further enhance reliability. In addition, in terms of driving comfort, the gear system design has been comprehensively improved, significantly reducing engine noise and vibration.

"This power can be said to have stronger power and lower fuel consumption, and it is a product that meets the four stage fuel consumption standard." Chen Hua said that in the context of the recovery growth of the Chinese truck market, he believes that Fukang 7L will have excellent market performance in the cold chain, Lvtong, express, sanitation, engineering vehicles and other special vehicles.




Where does Fukang's confidence and confidence come from

Confidence and confidence stem from Fukang's strong system integration capabilities, response speed, and foresight.
