01 Variable Valve Drive Mechanism
The key to reducing nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide emissions is to keep the post-treatment within an effective temperature range and maximize the thermal efficiency of the engine. Eaton has developed various variable valve drive technologies for medium and heavy-duty engines to meet these two needs: intake valve advance/delay closing (EIVC/LIVC) or "Miller" cycle, engine cylinder deactivation (CDA), and exhaust valve advance opening (EEVO). Regardless of whether the host factory uses bottom mounted cam wheels, single overhead or double overhead cam structures, Eaton's variable valve drive technology can help them achieve fuel economy or exhaust thermal management needs.
02 Engine Cylinder Brake System
Eaton's engine pressure reducing cylinder braking technology for medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle applications can reduce the total lifecycle cost (TCO) of truck owners while providing higher braking power. Eaton provides integrated or rocker arm specific 1-stroke, 1.5-stroke, and 2-stroke brake systems for top cam and bottom cam engine valve structures.
