Exhibition Review | Mechanical Students Enter China International Internal Combustion Engine and Power Equipment Expo


On October 12, 2024, the Graduate Student Union of the School of Mechanical Engineering organized more than 80 students from the School to visit the 2024 China International Internal Combustion Engine and Power Equipment Expo in Beijing, experiencing the development of power equipment technology and industrial upgrading, exchanging and discussing with industry professionals, sparking innovation in the collision of thinking, and experiencing the vigorous vitality of the development of internal combustion engines and power equipment.

This expo brings together more than 150 leading brand enterprises from 23 countries and regions around the world, with an unprecedented scale and a total area of 15000 square meters. This exhibition focuses on the cutting-edge exploration and practice of low-carbon and zero carbon transformation in the industry, showcasing a series of the latest technological innovation achievements and application examples. It provides a high-level interactive platform for global industry colleagues, universities, and research institutions to learn, exchange, and showcase achievements, providing a favorable soil for industrial iteration and updating, and jointly promoting the wider application and more sustainable development of the power equipment industry.


Our original intention is to seek the path of innovation and fulfill the mission of driving development. This expo is not only a valuable opportunity for students to get close to the pulse of the industry and gain insights into future development trends, but also an excellent platform to deepen professional knowledge, broaden international perspectives, and promote the deep integration of theory and practice. Through visiting and learning, students can intuitively understand the latest scientific research trends and technological innovations in the field of internal combustion engines and power equipment, effectively promoting seamless integration between academic research and market demand, and laying a solid foundation for their future careers.

During the visit, the students visited exhibition areas such as Tianjin University, Weichai Power, and China FAW, carefully listening to the cutting-edge explanations of industry experts, providing in-depth and detailed consultations on technical details, and personally experiencing multiple cutting-edge technologies and products. This series of rich and diverse interactive practical activities greatly broadened students' knowledge horizons and deepened their understanding and comprehension of the industry.

Zhao Yufan, a doctoral student from the class of 2022, said: This visit has benefited me a lot. At the exhibition, I had a close encounter with the latest cutting-edge technologies such as powertrain, internal combustion engine, fuel cell, etc., and gained a deep understanding of the current development status and future trends of the entire power equipment industry chain. Especially the display of various innovative technologies, such as pre chamber jet ignition technology and flexible fuel engines, has given me a clearer understanding of the application of new internal combustion power systems and their potential in future industries. This exhibition has given me confidence in the rapid development of internal combustion engine and power equipment technology, and has also provided me with new directions and ideas for my learning and research.

Zhao Mengdi, a master's student of 2023, said: In this world that seems to be gradually invaded by the "cloud", this exhibition showcases irreplaceable vitality with its unique charm and value. It provides us with an immersive experience, different from the two-dimensional display on the screen. The physical exhibition allows us to personally experience products and intuitively feel the subtleties of materials and designs. This multi sensory participation not only stimulates our interest in exhibits, but also helps us understand book knowledge.
