At the recently held 2024 China International Internal Combustion Engine and Power Equipment Expo, a comprehensive display of internal combustion engine engines and components, powertrains, hydrogen internal combustion engines, ammonia fuel internal combustion engines, alternative fuel internal combustion engines, remanufacturing technologies and products was held, providing a broad cooperation and exchange platform for the internal combustion engine industry, attracting many mainstream engine companies to participate, among which Jiefang Power performed particularly well.

At this exhibition, Jiefang Power showcased eight of its main products, including natural gas, diesel, and new energy, showcasing the technological and product strength of China's first independent power in all aspects. During the exhibition, Yang Yang, the head of the powertrain division of FAW Jiefang, was invited by the organizers to give a media interview, detailing Jiefang's participation in the exhibition and recent market development strategies.

Question 1: The theme of this year's CIIE is "Power Changes the World", showcasing excellent products and technological achievements across the entire power industry chain. So, what innovative and cutting-edge works did Jiefang Power bring to this exhibition?

Answer: FAW Jiefang Powertrain Division is the business entity responsible for the entire powertrain sector under Jiefang Company, which is integrated from the original engine, transmission, and axle sectors. The subsidiary enterprises mainly include the original Xichai and Dachai, as well as gearbox and axle businesses.

In 2021, Jiefang Power launched the "Jiefang Intelligent Power Domain" brand, which has built four major solution platforms, G, H, E, and F, for different user usage scenarios. Covering the traditional power domain, hybrid power domain, pure electric power domain, and fuel electric power domain, it meets the power needs of all users in different scenarios. In this exhibition, Jiefang Power brought our brand new products.

There are two products in the G power range: 16L diesel power and 16L gas power. They are the two products with the highest horsepower, displacement, good reliability, and significant advantages in fuel consumption and gas consumption in China. At the same time, the entire range of gas products from G Power Domain and the brand new diesel products with over 600 horsepower also participated in this exhibition. The 600 horsepower diesel engine has been fully launched on the market recently, and users and market feedback have been very positive.

Among the hybrid products in the H power domain, the exhibited product this time is a small 2.5-liter hybrid system.

Two types of electric drive axles, light and medium, were exhibited on the E-power platform. Light electric drive axle is the latest new energy axle launched, mainly targeting the light urban logistics market, which can meet the demand of fully loaded 6.5-8.5 ton pure electric, fuel cell, and extended range hybrid light vehicles; Medium sized electric drive bridge, suitable for various application scenarios such as medium-sized environmental sanitation, logistics, heavy-duty 6 * 4 traction, 10.5-meter bus, suspension structure, etc., with a rated axle load of up to 13000kg.

In the F power domain (fuel cell power domain), Jiefang Power has a full range layout, from 80 kW to 240 kW, with a very comprehensive range of models.

Question 2: The product line of Jiefang Power is very extensive, with its own flagship products in various fields. In the field of natural gas engines, Jiefang Power has advanced technology, excellent market performance, and comprehensive service support. The CA6SX1 16 liter engine exhibited at this exhibition can be regarded as a masterpiece of Jiefang Power's resistance. Can you give us a detailed introduction?

Answer: The Aowei CA6SX1 16 liter engine is a heavyweight product of Jiefang Power. It has been under development for 5 years and was officially introduced to the market in the second half of last year. This year, it has truly gained momentum in the market.

Compared with competitors in the same industry, the biggest advantage of CA6SX1 16 is its large displacement and super power. It is currently the gas powered product with the largest displacement, power, and torque on the market. The CA6SX1 16 has a large displacement and excellent power performance. At the same time, CA6SX1 16 has good reliability and lower gas consumption. The average gas consumption is about 28-31 kilograms, which is more than one kilogram lower than competitors. The product is mainly used for long-distance trunk transportation in the northwest and trunk logistics transportation in the east, and performs very well in these scenarios. As of now, the market import volume of CA6SX1 16 has reached about 10000 units.

Question 3: In recent years, under the interweaving of carbon neutrality vision, energy revolution, and digital development wave, the power industry is facing unprecedented challenges and changes. How do you view the development direction of engine technology in the current market? What is the technology research and development strategy for liberating power?

Answer: I believe that the future development direction of power technology must be a diversified and combined development model.

In the future, the layout of Jiefang Power in the field of high horsepower engines will be fully developed. In 2024, Jiefang Power will launch a new generation of 16L and 13L products, and continue to introduce new products into the market. In addition, in the field of new energy, Jiefang Power is also making a full range of layouts, and the three major development directions of hybrid power, pure electric power, and fuel cells are synchronously promoting product research and development.

Question 4: With technological changes, the internal combustion engine industry is also facing unprecedented challenges. How did Jiefang Power "walk ahead and bravely compete" in the turbulent times of change?

Answer: The core advantage of Jiefang Power lies in its comprehensive research and development system and scientific research capabilities. The platform development of Jiefang Power is completed by the Commercial Vehicle Development Institute, and the Powertrain Division also has a Product Development Department to complement it, completing the overall research and development of engine products. Jiefang Power Wood has a long history of deep cultivation in the field of power technology. Xichai and Dachai, both affiliated with the Powertrain Division, are power equipment manufacturing enterprises with a very long history and profound technological accumulation. At the same time, Jiefang Power is also very open in research and development, maintaining deep communication and exchanges with top research institutes and universities in the industry. In the field of powertrain, we are still very confident.

Question 5: With the continuous improvement of product quality and technological strength of Chinese enterprises, overseas development is advancing rapidly. What is the current development situation of Jiefang Power overseas? What layouts and achievements have been made?

Answer: Jiefang Power went global relatively early, and has been continuously cultivating overseas markets. At present, the main markets are Africa, the Middle East, South America, Southeast Asia, and Russia. The whole vehicle products supporting liberation have a very high market share in Russia. In addition, it has a good reputation in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and other places, and the overall service system is also very comprehensive.
