From December 25th to 28th, 2024, the 3rd General Gasoline Engine Sub Technical Committee of the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the General Gasoline Engine Standardization Committee) was successfully held in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, along with its 2024 annual meeting. 64 representatives, including leaders related to standardization work, members of the General Gasoline Engine Standardization Committee, observers, major production enterprises, research institutes, and testing institutions in the field of general gasoline engines, attended the meeting. The attendance rate of the General Gasoline Engine Standardization Committee members was 94.3%. The conference invited Tan Xiangning, Deputy Chief Engineer of the China Machinery Industry Federation, Wang Moyang, Director of the Standards Work Department of the China Machinery Industry Federation, and Secretary General Wei Bin, Accountant of the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee, to attend and give important speeches. The meeting was chaired by Chairman Chen Jing of the Communications Standards Committee, and Vice Chairmen Zhang Peisheng and Jing Huayang.

In his speech, he fully affirmed the standardization work of the Standardization Committee, shared important information on the annual standardization work of the machinery industry, and put forward hope for the work of the new Standardization Committee. He pointed out that the standardization committee should continue to strengthen its work around promoting high-quality development, accelerating the construction of a new standard system, increasing the promotion and implementation of standards, and coordinating the promotion of standardization reform and development, and pushing the standardization cause to a new level.

Secretary General Ji Weibin gave a detailed explanation in the exchange report on internal combustion engine standardization work from three aspects: the 2024 mechanical industry standardization work report, the status of internal combustion engine standardization work, and the 2025 internal combustion engine standardization work arrangement. In 2024, the standardization work has achieved significant results, and the level of standard technology continues to improve, making significant contributions to promoting the high-end, intelligent, and green development of equipment manufacturing.

Secretary General Ding Qianlan, on behalf of the Secretariat, summarized the work of the second session of the General Machinery Standardization Committee from the aspects of organizational structure and team building, standard system construction, standard revision, standard promotion and implementation research, group standardization, standardization activities and training, and reported on the key work plan of the third session. The second Tongji Standardization Committee has achieved fruitful results in improving the standard system construction, developing standards in key areas, and carrying out standardization activities, playing a leading role in standardization for the industry.

Vice Secretary General Huang Wendong provided standardization training to the new members of the Standardization Committee in terms of basic knowledge of standardization, standard setting procedures, and voting operations. The aim was to improve the quality of standardization work by standardization authors and enhance the standardization and scientificity of standard work through training.

The 3rd General Gasoline Engine Sub Technical Committee of the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC177/SC4) is composed of 53 members, with Chen Jing as the chairman, Jia Bin, Jing Huayang, and Zhang Peisheng as vice chairmen, Ding Qianlan as a member and secretary-general, Guo Song and Huang Wendong as members and deputy secretary-general, and the secretariat jointly undertaken by Tianjin Internal Combustion Engine Research Institute (Tianjin Motorcycle Technology Center) and China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.

Under the leadership of Vice Chairman Jing Huayang and Zhang Peisheng, the leading units of the four proposed project standards reported on the necessity and pre research status of the establishment of the "Technical Specification for Exhaust Mufflers of General Gasoline Engines", "Comprehensive Flow Test Bench for Carbonators", "Technical Specification for Low Carbon Product Evaluation of General Gasoline Engines", and "Fuel Consumption Rate Limits and Measurement Methods for Small Spark Ignition Engines for Non Road Mobile Machinery". At the meeting, the revision work of the recommended national standard project "General Gasoline Engine Vibration Rating and Testing Methods" was officially launched. The attending representatives had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the standardization plan for the "15th Five Year Plan" in the field of telecommunications, the construction of the standardization system in the field of telecommunications, and suggestions for the work of the standardization committee. They put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for the standardization work plan of telecommunications in the next five years.

The conference successfully completed all agenda items, and the third session of the General Motors Standardization Committee was established, which is a milestone in the development of the general gasoline engine industry and promotes the standardization process of the general gasoline engine industry.
