Industry News | Plan to promote 20000 hydrogen powered heavy-duty trucks by 2030! The first hydrogen fuel cell engine in Guangxi is offline in Baise
On July 30th, in the production workshop of Guangxi Zhongdian Huatong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with the completion of the last process, a hydrogen fuel cell engine was officially taken offline. This marks a "zero breakthrough" in the manufacturing of key hydrogen energy equipment in Guangxi, filling the gap in the autonomous production of hydrogen fuel cell engines in the region and laying the core equipment foundation for Baise to build a China ASEAN hydrogen energy industry base.
The first hydrogen fuel cell engine of Guangxi Zhongdian Huatong was taken offline at the Zhongdian Baise Energy Electronics Industrial Park in Baise High tech Zone
Our first phase of the engine production line has an annual output of 2000 units, mainly producing hydrogen fuel cell engines ranging from 80kW to 240kW, which are widely used in various fields such as cars, cold chain logistics vehicles, and hydrogen powered heavy-duty trucks. ”Song Haiying, the person in charge of Guangxi Zhongdian Huatong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that the second phase of the project will further expand production capacity, and the annual output of hydrogen fuel cell engines will reach 10000 units. At the same time, the core components of hydrogen fuel cell engines, including fuel cells, stacks, membrane electrodes, and high-temperature membranes, will be introduced to build the entire industry chain of the hydrogen fuel cell core industry chain in Baise.

In September 2024, China Electric Power Industry Development (Guangxi) Co., Ltd., together with 24 units including Beijing Yihuatong Technology Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Sales Co., Ltd. Guangxi Petroleum Branch, jointly launched the construction of the "China ASEAN Hydrogen Energy Industry Base" in Baise, focusing on building a hydrogen energy industry development engine based in Guangxi and facing ASEAN. The production of hydrogen fuel cell engines offline this time is the first achievement of the base, and also a microcosm of Baise's focus on building new quality productivity, accelerating energy transformation and upgrading, cultivating new economic growth points, and promoting high-quality economic development.

In recent years, Baise has actively laid out a new track for the development of green energy industry, built a strategic emerging industrial park in Baise High tech Zone, and established the largest advanced equipment manufacturing base for "wind solar hydrogen storage" in Southwest China, promoting the development of hydrogen energy industry and energy electronics industry clusters such as battery cells. At the same time, the implementation of the "Five Exemptions and Five Halves" income tax preferential policy plans to promote 20000 hydrogen powered heavy-duty trucks by 2030. By the end of the 15th Five Year Plan, more than 60 hydrogen refueling stations of various types will be built, forming a supply capacity of over 300000 tons of hydrogen per year. Promote the construction of the "China ASEAN Hydrogen Energy Industry Research Institute", create a closed-loop system of "industry university research application" from research and development to manufacturing, and comprehensively enhance the competitiveness of Baise's hydrogen energy industry.
