Industry News | Smart Irrigation with Precise Efforts and Multiple Measures to Combat Drought and Ensure Harvest
Since the beginning of the summer, Luzhou District has continued to face the challenge of high temperatures and low rainfall, with some farmland experiencing drought conditions. The Agricultural and Rural Bureau of the district takes active actions, coordinates various forces, and uses various irrigation methods according to local conditions to work together to resist drought, ensure irrigation and food security.
In the contiguous farmland of Chen Village, Daxinzhuang Street, the pointer type sprinkler irrigation machine rotates at a constant speed, while the translational sprinkler belt steadily advances on the track, and the interwoven fine water mist is accurately sprayed onto the corn field.
This demonstration area, which adopts the "smart agriculture+sewage farming" model, ensures a daily water demand of 3600 cubic meters in drought conditions through precise control of the rotary irrigation system, effectively guaranteeing the water demand for corn during the critical period from tasseling to grouting, laying a solid foundation for stable and abundant autumn grain production.
In Bitou Village, the local authorities make full use of existing deep well resources and operate machine wells to pump water day and night, ensuring timely irrigation of surrounding farmland.
In order to effectively cope with drought weather, the District Agriculture and Rural Bureau quickly established a special team for drought resistance work, strengthened linkage with water conservancy, meteorology and other departments, monitored water sources and weather changes in real-time 24 hours a day, and accurately dispatched water sources.
At the same time, dozens of agricultural technical backbones were organized to go deep into the fields and provide targeted drought resistance technical guidance and services for different plots and crops.
In Xiahan Village, Gong Village and other places, agricultural technicians guide farmers to flexibly adopt agricultural water-saving measures such as "one spray, multiple promotions" and alternate irrigation with ridges based on soil moisture conditions, and cooperate with mobile sprinkler irrigation equipment for emergency supplementary irrigation to maximize water conservation.
The relevant departments have also opened up green channels to prioritize the demand for drought resistant electricity and ensure the normal operation of irrigation facilities.
At present, the soil moisture in the drought affected areas of the whole region is gradually improving, and various drought resistant and harvest protection measures are being effectively and orderly promoted.
