Wang Jun, Deputy Director General of the General Administration of Customs, stated that in the past year, global economic growth has slowed down, unilateralism and protectionism have risen, and the international economic and trade order has been severely impacted. Faced with the complex and ever-changing international environment, China's imports and exports have still achieved rapid growth, which is the ninth consecutive year of growth and the longest continuous growth since China's accession to the WTO.
Specifically in the internal combustion engine industry, the total import and export volume in 2025 showed a year-on-year increase, with: imports showing a slight year-on-year growth; Exports have increased year-on-year, and the growth rate has remained above 10%.
According to data compiled by the General Administration of Customs, the total import and export volume of the internal combustion engine industry in 2025 will be 38.742 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 8.38%. Among them, imports will be 10.41 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 2.74%, and exports will be 28.332 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10.61%; The trade surplus is 17.922 billion US dollars.

Diesel engine imports amounted to 1.8 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 17.55%; (Among them, marine diesel engines and vehicle diesel engines with P ≥ 132.39kw increased by over 22% year-on-year, while other diesel engines decreased year-on-year)
Gasoline engine imports amounted to 347 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -31.34%; A gasoline engine with a displacement of 50ml<or ≤ 3000ml experiences a decrease of less than 30%, while the remaining displacements experience a decrease of over 70%
The import of other types of complete machines reached 2.375 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.71%; (Except for a year-on-year decrease in biogas engines, other subcategories saw year-on-year growth. Other marine reciprocating or rotary piston internal combustion engines, other unlisted spark ignition piston internal combustion engines, and compression ignition piston internal combustion engines with output power ≤ 14kw saw year-on-year growth of over 25%.)
The import of internal combustion engine components reached 4.984 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -2.47%; ("Catalytic converters or particulate filters used for purifying or filtering exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, whether combined or not", "crankshafts for marine diesel engines" increase by more than 25%, "electronically controlled fuel injection devices", "coolant pumps for piston internal combustion engines" decrease by more than 20%)
The import of generator sets reached 904 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10.14%. The growth of compression ignition internal combustion engine generator sets with P ≤ 75KVA and 375KVA ＜ P ≤ 2MVA has exceeded 30%, while the rest have decreased year-on-year

Gasoline engine exports amounted to 2.074 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of -1.57%; The gasoline engine with a displacement of 50ml<250ml increased by 23.86%, the reciprocating piston engine for vehicles with a displacement greater than 3000ml increased by 17.30%, and the rest of the displacements decreased
The export of other types of complete machines reached 3.442 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 28.50%; (Except for a year-on-year decrease in biogas engines, other subcategories saw year-on-year growth. Other ignited reciprocating or rotary piston internal combustion engines for ships increased by 149.35%, and compression ignition piston internal combustion engines with output power ≥ 14kw increased by over 32% year-on-year.)
The export of internal combustion engine components reached 14.767 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.00%; (Parts for locomotive diesel engines, parts for P ≥ 132.39kw (180hp) diesel engines, and turbochargers for engines (excluding turbochargers) have increased by over 10%, while crankshafts and electronic fuel injection devices for marine diesel engines have increased by nearly 30%.)
The export of generator sets reached 6.72 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 23.91%. (All categories have increased, with compression ignition internal combustion engine generator sets and those with P>75KVA increasing by over 24%).
