2、 Vehicle Introduction
The Hongqi H5 medium power fuel cell demonstration operation vehicle is equipped with a 70MPa onboard hydrogen storage system and a 50KW level fuel cell system. The fuel cell engine assembly is at the leading level in China.

01 50kW high specific power fuel cell engine


It achieves optimal performance of the engine by controlling the collaborative work of five subsystems, with comprehensive performance indicators leading domestic products of the same level. This engine has the technical characteristics of four highs and two lows.
1. High power: The independently developed fuel cell engine integrates the stack, DC/DC, and drive motor, with a rated power of up to 70kW and a peak power of up to 77kW. Adopting an integrated design concept, the whole machine fully considers lightweight design, with a volume to power ratio of 715W/L; Being at the international advanced level;
2. High efficiency: Integrated high-temperature metal bipolar plate stack, high-efficiency air compressor, intelligent and efficient thermal management system, with a maximum efficiency of 60% and a rated power point efficiency of 45%, achieving ultra-low hydrogen consumption and allowing users to enjoy the advantages of long battery life of hydrogen fuel cells;
3. Fast response: Develop a flow pressure coordination control strategy with a dynamic response rate of up to 40W/s.
4. High safety: independently developed high-strength collision safety design, hydrogen safety protection and monitoring, greatly improving safety, ensuring safe and stable operation of fuel cell engines in all environments, and eliminating the need for users to worry about hydrogen;
5. Low noise: Independently develop a low-noise hydrogen injection device, perform sound insulation and noise reduction treatment on the air compressor, significantly reduce noise, and improve comfort.
6. Low temperature adaptability: Independently develop a low-temperature start-up control strategy to solve the problem of low-temperature operation. It can quickly start and work normally in a low-temperature environment of -30 ℃, meeting the user experience in low-temperature environments, especially in northern winter.

02 Hongqi H5 fuel cell vehicle


The vehicle is developed based on a full power national project and features zero pollution, strong power, and high safety. It is a friendly car model that truly safeguards green mountains and clear waters. It is equipped with the first generation 50kW fuel cell engine independently developed by FAW, with a maximum speed of 160km/h, a 0-100km/h acceleration of 9s, a 52L dual cylinder combination, a hydrogen storage capacity of 3.5kg, a driving range of 400km, a peak efficiency of over 50%, and supports -20 ℃ low-temperature cold start.
This car has participated in multiple industry exhibitions and media test drive events, such as our stunning debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2019, which received widespread attention and demonstrated the inheritance and innovation of the Hongqi brand, fully demonstrating the determination of the Hongqi brand to lead Chinese national brands upward.
In 2020, we participated in the Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Science Popularization Parade. As the only self owned brand passenger car in the event, this vehicle has attracted the attention of many media outlets and citizens.
At the first China Hydrogen Energy Automobile Super League in 2021, this vehicle won the endurance race championship with its strong and stable power output, solid chassis tuning, and good maneuverability, achieving the fastest speed of 3 minutes and 28 seconds.
With the mission of supporting the Winter Olympics and promoting green travel in 2022, this car has joined the ranks of the Red Flag "China Ice and Snow Protocol Car", providing safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly travel guarantees for Winter Olympics staff and volunteers.

03 New Hongqi H5 Fuel Cell Vehicle


The vehicle is built based on a provincial project led by the Powertrain Department, with the participation of more than 10 professionals. It is based on the C brand new Hongqi H5 HEV model and is modified from the original model. It is equipped with the second-generation 50kW engine independently developed by FAW, with a tested maximum speed of 160km/h and a 0-100km/h acceleration of 10.2s. It adopts a newly developed 57L dual bottle combination, with a hydrogen storage capacity of greater than or equal to 4.3kg. Based on repeated iterative optimization of the control strategy, its economic performance is also excellent, with a hydrogen consumption of less than 0.88kg per 100km and a driving range of over 500km. It supports low-temperature cold start at -30 ℃. Currently, the vehicle has completed engine and vehicle performance calibration, and is gradually carrying out vehicle road tests.
